September 7, 2003

Well, It's now early September, I'm home from Europe about a week now, and I'm really missing it over there.
I made it to Germany okay, and was glad to see that all my old friends and family are still healthy and well. Within ten minutes I was relaxed and right at home.
I've added some new content to the Ireland gallery as well. Here you'll find some new pictures of some of the people I met and a few more stories from my time spent in Ardmore.
I really miss it there very much, and even-though I've decided to return next summer it just seems so far away. Well, I waited 28 years to see it the first time, what's another year to see it again?

I arrived in Dublin on July 12th at 5:30 am.

I had only two goals:

1. To catch a train to Ardmore that afternoon.
2. To have my first pint at the Guiness Brewery.

What I didn't realize was that the brewery and the train station were on the complete opposite side of the city.

So, off I went.

I didn't have much money that day, so to collect some cash for lunch, I broke out my guitar in this square in an area called Temple Bar and started playing. After I'd earned about €12 (around $15), I went off to grab a light treat and a bottle of water.

It was a very long walk, and I was carrying all my luggage. I was exhausted.

By the time I got to my Guinness, I looked something like this...

Before... After...

Now, I'm not usually one for tourist drivel...

...but I had to recieve the "Perfect Pint" training.

It came with a certificate and pint. Mmmm... Good.

Needless to say perhaps, four pints later, I didn't experience much of the train ride. I slept through most of it.

Later that evening I was in Ardmore, and we all went out to celebrate my long awaited arrival.

In other words, more pints.
